Siblings Fight
My brother grabbed a pencil and stabbed it on my left palm.

Parents will try to hinder their kids from killing each other, but it will happen. The clash is because children are selfish, and sometimes their desires are conflict with the other. When they grow up, they will still fight, but now because they have this thing called “pride” and “principle” that they strive to abide by.

Fighting is not something they learned. I don’t think that TV or games made them violent, but instinct dictates them to fray. But that is not to say that we let them be. We still try to tone our children and make them be a mannerly person.

I like to fight with my brother, and I welcome other siblings to fight too because when they reconciled, they will be closer to each other. On a separate occasion, I sprayed antiseptic alcohol to my brother’s eyes. He’s still in 20/20 vision now; I’m not really a douche but I’m sure there’s an ample reason behind my fury then. I can’t remember it, maybe curiosity? I wonder what it does on a person’s eyes.. ohh that!

I have a sister too, and we fight like Zeus and Hades. She loves to grow her nails just so she can scratch the tendons beneath my skin. My strongest weapon is I’ll call her fat. I miss those good times; and see, later on in life you’ll just laugh about it.

What is the fiercest fight you’ve had with your sibling/s?

My kids haven’t figured out hitting yet, but man do they fuss and argue! When they come complaining to me, I just ask why they’re telling me about it. My sister and I used to chase each other around the house until my dad got the belt out. Those were good times. ;)

My sister and I fight like crazy! Still know how to prickle each other in our 40′s. My children (now 20, 18, 16) squabbled like mad when they were younger. It’s gotten better as they’ve gotten older, but they still will take a jab at each other from time to time. I let them, mostly. They’ll figure it out.

they do fight. have two girls now and i don’t know why people say girls are sweet or at most pull hair…when they fight they don’t just pull hair they slam faces, push…i keep telling them they’re going to kill each other, but atleast they are spraying stuff into each other’s eyes. LOL! not yet anyways.

Would not want to suggest that I know the right way. But in a family with kids close in age and the same gender, it is worth thinking about. Good luck!

omg, you reminded me of my fights with my siblings……I was the only girl, so I grew my nails long enough to scar my brotherss and make them bleed. We would never stop arguing over small issues, and mom would go crazy with the violence..
How we miss those childhood days of fun and fight !!

I knew it! You grow your nails for the purpose of infliction.

My sister bit me on my thigh and then locked me out of the house! It was a brutal bite and I had a scar for a long time. I don’t see the scar anymore. But, you’re right. You can laugh about these things later in life, thankfully.

My brother and I fought over everything, and it very often turned incredibly violent. Baseball bats to noses being only one of many incidents. We finally had a snapping point when he was in college and I was in high school. It took about 5 years for us to start talking again. But it was a rude awakening for both of us to really see what we were fighting about all those years. And unfortunately it all stemmed back to our mom. But because of those fights we both became better people, and now have a very strong relationship. Thanks for posting this, I’ve tried explaining how exactly our fighting actually helped in the end, but could never word it so it made sense.

My sister and I never fought beyond what was considered normal in the sixties, a better time since video games were not even on the horizon at that time. As we aged, rather than fight we simply grew apart with our own lives but still talk here and there and get along fine. I very much agree with viveka, video games and other media have made young people more violent, and in turn, added to our prison population. Why has prison become an industry in America? Further, the constant use of sex to sell everything from deodorant to cars has added to the “Jerry Sandusky” problem we have in America today. The recent video of children verbally abusing a bus monitor is yet another example of the abusive mentality children learn today. And where are the parents!?

I’m a strong believer in that the game today has made kids more violent – even too violent for me to watch, but we have turned violence into entertainment – films, music videos and TV plus all games and I’m not a fan of it, terrible really that we enjoy seeing people get killed and even better if in slow motion, it’s really sick and I don’t enjoy watching it, there is enough of violence in real life – but I think siblings will always fight *smile
